All About Pick Your Own Strawberries at Reesor's
Our Pick Your Own strawberry fields are now open for the season. Picking hours can vary according to weather conditions. Please check our Reesor’s Farm Market Facebook page or call our strawberry hotline for daily picking hours and conditions, 905-640-4568.
You'll enjoy picking your own Ontario strawberries at our farm in the countryside of Markham. Lots of ready-picked strawberries are available too.
The gate from Elgin Mills Road closes 30 minutes before the picking time ends and all pickers must leave the field at the end of picking hours. Last entry to the fields is 5:30pm.
Usual picking hours:
Mon.-Sat. 8:00 to 5:30 (Last entry to the fields is 5:30 and field clears at 6pm)
Please note: we are closed Sundays.
Our pick your own strawberry fields are typically open each year from late June to early July.
If you're arriving by public transit YRT/VIVA please check in at the farm market for directions to the strawberry fields.
Individual Admission for 2019:
Upon arrival at our strawberry field please purchase a U-Pick Strawberry Field Admission card for $7.50. It is valid for one person to enter the field that day. The card covers your first $7.50 worth of strawberries picked. The price of $5.50/kg ($2.49/lb.) of strawberries picked applies for additional harvest. Only paying customers may enter the field. Children aged 6 and under are free.
Group of Four/Family Admission for 2019:
Upon arrival at our strawberry field please purchase a U-Pick Strawberry Field Admission card for $25.00. It is valid for four people to enter the field that day. The card covers your group's first $25.00 worth of strawberries picked. The regular price of $5.50/kg ($2.49/lb.) of strawberries picked applies for additional harvest. Only paying customers may enter the field. Children aged 6 and under are free.
Would your company or organization like to pick strawberries as a group? Groups are welcome to make reservations for Mon.-Thurs. (not including July 1). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Groups are on a first come first serve basis for booking dates. Please let us know the date you wish to come and we will reserve that date and time for you. If you did not make a confirmed reservation, your group may not be allowed to pick in our fields.

Containers: 4L baskets are for sale for $2 at the pick your own fields or bring your own shallow containers or baskets.
Payment: Cash, credit & debit are accepted in the u-pick fields.
What about children? Supervised children are welcome!
Dogs? For the comfort of all our customers, dogs are not permitted in the strawberry fields or the farm market.
We’ve been growing strawberries for pick your own and ready-picked at our farm since 1985 and we try to ensure a good picking experience for you.
Strawberry Picking Tips
1. Try to pick your berries with the long green stem (the peduncle) attached. Do this by grasping the peduncle between the forefinger and the thumbnail and pull with a slight twisting motion. Keeping the calyx (the tiny green leaves) attached keeps your strawberries fresher longer.
2. Select red strawberries. Green berries will not ripen after they are picked.
3. Gently place the berries in your shallow basket or container to avoid bruising them.
4. Store your strawberries, unwashed, with their stems on in a shallow, loosely covered container in your fridge.
5. Wash the berries just before you are are ready to use them. Remove the stems after washing them, so the water doesn't enter the berry and dilute the flavour. Washing ahead of time makes them more prone to spoiling.
